Psychic Trash Detectives
As game editor, I conducted key developmental editing, playtesting, and production leadership work in taking the roleplaying game Psychic Trash Detectives from concept to finished product.
As graphic designer, I worked with artist E.V.Eerie to typeset and lay out the Psychic Trash Detectives cover, creating an appealing design that matches visual norms across both game and book publishing.
As anthology co-editor, I worked with the game writer to secure fiction and poetry inspired by the setting of the game, edited each work, and organized them into an anthology printed along with the game.
A tabletop roleplaying game that was funded during ZineQuest 2023, an annual event showcasing small independent zine projects, Psychic Trash Detectives invites players to imagine playing as animals who solve mysteries by receiving psychic visions from trash.
The world is electric with supernatural energy, an interconnected web of memory and emotional echoes that only animals can perceive. Nowhere is that energy more present than in human trash — abandoned, lost, and discarded objects with long history, aching with deep psychic wounds. In this collaborative story game for 3-5 players, you play as Psychic Trash Detectives: animals who feel this energy in your bones.
Will you be the cozy grandpossum wrapped in an afghan made from shredded plastic? Or the shrewd cockroach who sees right through the lies? Touch trash, have visions, and solve the mystery plaguing your outcast community!
Psychic Trash Detectives is published by Scryptid Games. It is in its first printing, and available for purchase through Indie Press Revolution and local game stores in Maine, Baltimore, and soon NYC.
